# Prestasi Mahasiswa - Unified Create/Edit Implementation

## Overview
This implementation combines the create and edit functionality into a single form interface, similar to the pattern used in the MARGO-MITRO-APP repository. The form automatically detects whether to create a new record or edit an existing one based on the presence of parameters.

## Key Changes Made

### 1. Controller Updates (`app/Http/Controllers/Frontend/PrestasiMahasiswaController.php`)

#### Modified `create()` method:
- Now accepts `Request $request` parameter
- Checks for `draft_id` or `id` parameters to load existing records
- Loads existing record with relationships (pesertas, kategori, user)
- Ensures users can only edit their own records via `user_id` check

#### Enhanced `store()` method:
- Detects update vs create mode using `prestasi_mahasiswa_id` hidden field
- For updates: Updates existing record and deletes/recreates participants
- For creates: Creates new record as before
- Handles file uploads for both scenarios (replaces existing files on update)
- Dynamic success messages based on action type

#### Updated `saveStep()` method:
- Now handles both creating new drafts and updating existing drafts
- Uses same update/create logic as store method
- Proper file handling for draft updates
- Dynamic success messages

#### Removed methods:
- `edit()` method - functionality moved to `create()`
- `update()` method - functionality moved to `store()`

### 2. View Updates (`resources/views/frontend/prestasiMahasiswas/create.blade.php`)

#### Form modifications:
- Always uses `store` route for form action
- Added hidden field `prestasi_mahasiswa_id` when editing existing records
- Dynamic page titles and headers based on create/edit mode

#### JavaScript updates:
- Enhanced form initialization for editing mode
- Populates additional participants when editing existing records
- Maintains all existing functionality for validation and navigation

### 3. Index View Updates (`resources/views/frontend/prestasiMahasiswas/index.blade.php`)

#### Link updates:
- Edit links now point to `create` route with `id` parameter instead of `edit` route
- Maintains existing "Lanjutkan Pengisian" functionality for drafts

## Usage Examples

### Creating new record:
```
GET /prestasi-mahasiswas/create
```

### Editing existing record:
```
GET /prestasi-mahasiswas/create?id=123
```

### Continuing draft:
```
GET /prestasi-mahasiswas/create?draft_id=456
```

### Form submission (both create and edit):
```
POST /prestasi-mahasiswas
```

## Benefits

1. **Unified Interface**: Single form handles both create and edit operations
2. **Reduced Code Duplication**: No separate edit form template needed
3. **Consistent User Experience**: Same multi-step interface for both operations
4. **Simplified Routing**: Uses standard Laravel resource routing
5. **Draft Compatibility**: Maintains full draft functionality for both modes

## File Structure
```
app/Http/Controllers/Frontend/PrestasiMahasiswaController.php (modified)
resources/views/frontend/prestasiMahasiswas/create.blade.php (modified)
resources/views/frontend/prestasiMahasiswas/index.blade.php (modified)
```

## Testing Checklist

- [ ] Create new prestasi mahasiswa
- [ ] Edit existing prestasi mahasiswa
- [ ] Continue draft (draft_id parameter)
- [ ] Edit existing record (id parameter)
- [ ] Save draft during create
- [ ] Save draft during edit
- [ ] File uploads work in both modes
- [ ] Participant management works in both modes
- [ ] Validation works correctly
- [ ] Success messages are appropriate
- [ ] User can only edit their own records

## Security Considerations

- User authorization checks maintained (`user_id` filtering)
- CSRF protection preserved
- Gate permissions still enforced
- File upload security unchanged
